Trichome Biotechnologies is a science-led biotechnology company translating advanced protein research into meaningful nutritional and scientific impact.

The company operates across two integrated pillars. Through its protein and scientific services division, Trichome Biotechnologies collaborates with leading academic partners, including the Protein Structure Function Research Laboratory at the University of the Witwatersrand, to support high-quality research, skills development, and the translation of scientific knowledge into applied outcomes, strengthening access to specialised protein expertise.
In parallel, its innovation division focuses on the development of clean-label, functional nutrition solutions aimed at improving real-world nutritional outcomes. Currently in a dedicated R&D and stealth phase, this work prioritises optimised protein nutrition, formulation transparency, and long-term sustainability, with initial efforts centred on whey-based protein systems.
