SWEAT Africa community is heading to Stellenbosch, and we will be happy to have you there.

On 24 July 2026, SWEAT Africa is partnering with the OneBio Innovation Centre for Biotech & Beers, one of the Western Cape’s most consistent community gatherings for the biotech and life sciences space. This is a special edition of Biotech & Beers, and we’re bringing it to Stellenbosch in partnership with Stellenbosch Biofoundry. Our hope is to connect the Cape Town and Stellenbosch biotech ecosystems, expand the community network, and bring everyone together.

Biotech & Beers is a community platform for the biotech and life sciences ecosystem, a relaxed, informal space to connect with founders, funders, researchers, and innovators over a cold drink. No stuffy panels, no hard sells, just good conversation and good people.

About Biotech & Beers

Biotech & Beers launched in 2022 with a simple idea: bring the local science community together somewhere relaxed, outside the lab. Since then it has grown into a regular fixture on the Cape Town biotech calendar, drawing around 150 people each edition. The crowd spans researchers, students, founders, engineers, and investors, all working in and around biotech. It is an easy, low-pressure environment to meet people, have a real conversation, and build connections that matter.

SWEAT Africa at This Edition

At this edition, SWEAT Africa will be featured in the opening segment of the evening, a short 10 to 15 minute spotlight that kicks off the night before networking opens up. It is a chance to hear more about what SWEAT Africa is building and the community it is growing across Africa.
